A friend and I did a poetry challenge a few months back where we each wrote a poem once a day. Due to time constraints and my inability to come up with something profound to say every single day (I'm kind of a profound-once-a-fortnight kind of gal) it ended up being closer to a two-ish week challenge instead of a month. Anyway, my schedule has continued to be chaotic and I've gotten very little writing done. So I'm just going to post one of those poems... I don't make any claims to being a poet, so keep your expectations low...

Inhale. Fields and clover. Exhale.

Inhale. Sweet pine needles crushed. Exhale.

Music my rhythm in my ears, pushing me

Forward, away from dark thought clouds.

Inhale. Sweet pine needles crushed. Exhale.

Inhale. Sun on hot asphalt, sizzling. Exhale.

Forward, away from dark thought clouds;

Cluttering emotions whisked away by my feet

Inhale. Sun on hot asphalt, sizzling. Exhale.

Inhale. Water tumbling, sunlit sparkles. Exhale.

Cluttering emotions whisked away by my feet,

The Creator’s hand enveloping me in goodness.

Inhale. Water tumbling, sunlit sparkles. Exhale.

Inhale. Fields and clover. Exhale.

Cluttering emotions whisked away by my feet,

Music, my rhythm in my ears, pushing me
